The Photography

Michael Hetherington, the principal photographer of Browell Photography, provides a second photographer service at weddings.

Mike's flexible approach means he can work easily with the primary photographer to cover additional angles or parts of the day where it would be impossible for one photographer to be in two places at once. Mike has built up a wealth of wedding experience, photographing the range of different types of ceremonies, civil to Christian, Sikh to Chinese; preparations through to the first dance.

Mike already works with some fantastic professional-photographer friends but is thrilled to hear from other photographers looking for a second shooter who think his style could complement their own. Browell Photography can provide the specialist service you need, from just a few hours to the full duration of the wedding, as a backup under-your-wing or working independently throughout the day. Everyone's requirements are different, so rates are negotiable depending on the duration of the day and location.

If you are a couple and have yet to choose your photographers, Mike recommends Randall Photography and Antonio Sanzari; together we will be your photography team of choice. Both have kindly given permission for Mike to reproduce some of the photographs he has taken with them on this site.

If you connect with Mike's work, please get in touch.

When weddings do not keep him busy, Mike enjoys photographing the natural and man-made world, indulging in landscape and cityscape work, or trying his hand at something completely new! Commissions are welcome.

The Photographer

Michael Hetherington is the founding and principle photographer of Browell Photography.

Mike is captivated by photography and photographing the world, its people and all the wonderful things it has to offer.

His awe of photography began in a traditional darkroom while at school, when he was mystified by black and white images appearing, as if out of nowhere. He graduated as an engineer but his interest never waned and a camera was never far from his reach. He now works digitally.

Growing up near the English Lake District Mike has always had a soft spot for documenting its incredible landscapes but also gains fulfillment from photographing people, with relaxed portraits or a story telling style of photo journalism. Mike's aim is to capture the moment and emotion in his images, be it the moody early morning mist on a cold winter's morning gently lifting from a still lake or the raptuous joy of a newly-wed couple as they embrace.

Mike's photographic interests span the spectrum from weddings to rural/urban environments and beyond.

Mike is based in East Berkshire but travels regularly to the north of England and further afield.
